Restylane facial fillers are intended for use on highly visible facial areas that need some added plumpness or fullness to minimize or eliminate wrinkles. Restylane products can also be used to add volume in certain areas of the face to achieve the desired appearance. Take a moment to learn more about these hyaluronic acid–based facial fillers and how you may benefit from them.
Mouth and Lips
Restylane Silk was the first facial filler approved by the FDA for use as a lip augmentation option. This filler can also be used to minimize or smooth out wrinkles around the mouth. An appealing perk of using Restylane to enhance lip volume is the possibly of avoiding surgery if the filler injections produce the desired results.
If volume or fullness is desired in your cheeks due to age-related reductions in skin elasticity or bothersome imperfections, Restylane Lyft is the filler likely to be recommended. It can also be effective for laugh or smile lines that are becoming increasingly prominent around cheeks. It does this by increasing skin volume in a way that makes unwanted lines disappear.
Mouth Corners (Marionette Lines)
Lines, furrows, grooves, or wrinkles in mouth corners sometimes extend to the jawline. When this happens, Marionette lines may form. These unflattering lines make it appear as if your mouth can be opened or closed without any other facial movement. Restylane Refyne is the product that’s deigned to treat issues involving mouth corners.
Certain facial movements or expressions sometimes contribute to lines or wrinkles within the area by the nose and mouth. Issues of this nature may be treated with Restylane Defyne injections.
Multipurpose Restylane Injections
A basic Restylane filler is more of a multipurpose type of filler. It may be used to fill out facial folds or wrinkles. It can also be used for lip enhancement or augmentation. Another spot where Restylane can be injected is under the eyes to target dark circles that sometimes form due to heredity, issues with allergies, sun exposure, contact dermatitis, or changes related to the natural aging process.
Restylane has been FDA-approved since 2003. It’s advised that patients be at least 21 years of age or older to receive these injections. Potential side effects are usually minor and temporary, although proper precautions are taken during treatment sessions to minimize such issues. Sessions are normally completed in less than hour. You should also be able to return to work immediately since recovery is fairly quick for many patients.
